Annual Golf Tournament Brings Community Leaders, Supporters Together to Help Local Children and Families

Washington, D.C. – United Bank was once again proud to host its annual Charity Classic golf tournament in support of Inova Kellar Center. In its 21st year, the 2023 event generated a record $400,258, marking a lifetime total of funds raised to nearly $8 million, to aid local youth and families.

“Through the generosity of our community, we continue to build upon the legacy of the Classic, and as a result, help ensure the funding of critical programs that support the health and wellbeing of families in need,” said Mike Proctor, Chief Commercial Banking Officer, United Bank. “We are humbled to partner with Inova Kellar Center, and grateful for their incredible efforts that make a life-changing impact on those who live and work in this community.”

For more than 30 years, Inova Kellar Center has provided behavioral health services for children, adolescents and their families. Inova’s comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs and innovative special education school support families throughout Northern Virginia. Proceeds from the Classic provide funding that enables Inova Kellar Center to expand clinical services, finance critical staff positions and provide financial support to children and families who may not have the resources to obtain treatment.

This year’s Classic brought together a distinguished group of corporate and community leaders, attracting hundreds of business and community supporters, as well as 128 golfers to the Country Club of Fairfax on Sept. 25.
