As a testament to our company’s promise to enhance education and shape youth within our communities, United Bank is proud to manage and distribute the following scholarships through our Wealth Management division. Assisting students to obtain a college degree

United Bank Student Athlete Scholarship Program

We are proud to sponsor student scholarships in Washington, D.C. in partnership with the District of Columbia State Athletic Association (DCSAA). DSCAA is committed to encouraging excellence in both academics and athletics. Each scholarship recognizes the academic leadership and sportsmanship achievements of D.C. high school athletes.

Charles and Anna Gault Scholarship Fund

Under the provisions of the trust, the recipient must be a graduating senior in either Wood or Wirt County, West Virginia. Recipient will be selected on the basis of financial need, character and reputation, academic ability and desire. Preference will be given to members of South Parkersburg United Methodist Church, or members in good standing of a church of the United Methodist faith situated in either Wood or Wirt County, West Virginia.

Charles and Gertrude McCray Scholarship

Under the provisions of the trust, the recipient shall be a graduating senior of Calhoun County High School, West Virginia. Applicant must be pursuing higher education either from a collegiate, technical, or vocational learning institution in the areas of nursing, forestry and veterinary medicine.

Jackson Newcomb Scholarship

Under the provisions of the trust, the recipient will be chosen based upon academic performance, college aptitude test scores, references and financial need. Qualified applicants who reside in Boone County, West Virginia will receive preference over other West Virginia residents.

John and Audrey Allen Scholarship Fund

Under the provisions of the trust, the recipient shall be a graduating senior of Parkersburg High School, located in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Recipient will be selected based on need, character and reputation, academic ability and desire. Student must be recommended by school administration to the scholarship committee, who shall make the final decision on behalf of the Trustee bank.

O.J. Stout Scholarship Fund

Under the provisions of this trust, the recipient shall be a male graduate of a high school located in Wood County, or in an adjacent West Virginia county. Recipients will be selected primarily based on financial need, but academic ability and potential will also be considered. Preference will be given to students who are studying ministry at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buchannon, West Virginia.

Oran S. Baker and Joanne Schulte Baker Educational Nursing Scholarship

Under the provisions of the trust, the recipient shall be a resident of either Wood County, West Virginia or Washington County, Ohio. Applicant must attend a qualified, accredited nursing school in either Wood County, West Virginia or Washington County, Ohio.
