GREENVILLE, SC – United Bank recently promoted April Staggs to city executive for its Greenville, SC Market. As city executive, Staggs will take on new responsibilities including promoting deposit growth, fee income, expense control, and motivating the Bank’s Greenville, SC Market with consistent vision and direction. She will also continue her work as branch manager, driving sales performance objectives for United Bank’s Poinsett office.

“The thing that really stands out about United Bank is the relationships established with our customers and community involvement. I’ve found that if you’re involved through the giving of your time, talents, and treasures, your community will support you. People want to do business with people they know and trust,” said Staggs. “United empowers its employees to lead in their branches and to lead in their communities. The Bank wants you to be a part of where you live, work, and play, and that’s always been the kind of bank that I wanted to work for.”

Staggs has 14 years of banking experience. She joined the Bank in 2020 as a branch manager, following United’s acquisition of CresCom and its parent company, Carolina Financial Corporation, where she served as vice president of commercial lending. Prior to her time at CresCom, Staggs worked at Greer State Bank and CertusBank in various roles including group banking sales leader, business banker, and business development officer.

“As branch manager, April demonstrated a talent for leading and motivating her team towards achieving company goals,” said Nancy Bergin, Senior Regional Retail Sales Manager, United Bank. “In addition to her leadership skills, April’s commitment to her local community knows no bounds. We are confident that she will find the same success and deliver the same strong results as city executive as she’s had in her previous role.”

Staggs is a proud resident of Greer and she plays an active role in her local organizations. She currently serves on the Greer Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as the membership chair and on the Greer Centennial Lions Club Board as chair elect. She also teaches Sunday School at her church, Fairview Baptist Church.

A South Carolina native, Staggs received a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina Upstate and is a graduate of the South Carolina Bankers Association’s Bankers School. When she is not working or volunteering, you can usually find Staggs on a baseball field. A big baseball family, she and her husband spend their free time cheering on their two sons at games.
