Washington, D.C. – United Bank has named industry veteran Robert (Bob) Drake as senior vice president, managing director of commercial real estate.
Drake will lead the commercial real estate activity throughout the bank’s footprint. He brings more than 30 years of banking experience to the position, having held a number of commercial real estate relationship management positions at regional and national banks. He has served in a variety of senior roles throughout his career, including directing sales, loan administration and risk management teams. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and commercial real estate banking office manager, overseeing loan originations to private real estate developers and investors located in the Metro Washington/Baltimore MSA.
Drake graduated from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and accounting. He received an MBA from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Drake is active in the community and held leadership roles in a Boy Scouts of America troop and Cub Scout pack in Vienna, Va. since 2004. Over the past 15 years, Drake served as a presenter at a semi-annual Urban Land Institute seminar in Washington, D.C., discussing real estate financing and investing.
