Executive Vice President, Head of Wealth and Investment Management
Before joining United Bank, Matt Humphrey served in the Private Wealth Management Group of Goldman Sachs where he advised high net worth families, foundations, and institutions. He advised clients in the disciplines of strategic and tactical asset allocation, diversification strategies for concentrated positions, and trust and wealth transfer planning strategies. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Humphrey served in multiple leadership positions as an Army Aviation Officer in Korea, Central America, Afghanistan, and the U.S. He earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Vanderbilt University with concentrations in finance, strategy, and entrepreneurship. Mr. Humphrey graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in Economics and Civil Engineering. He now resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Marin, and son, Max.
Senior Vice President, Director of Fiduciary Services
Jane Sargent joined United Bank in 1977. She is responsible for business development in all areas of Wealth Management and is a licensed insurance agent in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Her banking experience includes management responsibilities in the retail banking area prior to joining the United Wealth Management group. Ms. Sargent is a graduate of the West Virginia School of Banking, LSU Graduate School of the South and Midwest Trust School. She is a member and past president of the Mid-Ohio Valley Estate Planning Council. Ms. Sargent has earned the designation of Certified Trust & Financial Advisor.
Senior Vice President, Director of Institutional Services
Michelle Wittekind joined United Bank in August 2006, and manages Institutional Services throughout the Bank’s footprint. In the seven years immediately preceding her joining United, she was a Pension Administrator and Business Development Specialist with Jackson Kelly, PLLC. Ms. Wittekind is an alumnus of Marietta College with a dual undergraduate degree in international business management and Spanish, and was awarded a certificate in leadership studies from the Bernard P. McDonough Center for Leadership and Business. She has earned the designations of Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) and Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC), and is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries. She serves on the Boards of Directors of The Education Alliance and the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and is past Board member of the American Lung Association of the Mid‐Atlantic and the YWCA of Charleston. She is a 2013 graduate and past Chairperson of United’s Leadership Development Program.
Senior Vice President, Director of Investments and Portfolio Management
Vince Manzi serves in a senior position of client and management oversight. He formerly managed the investment staff at United and the Southern Region of United’s Wealth Management Division. Mr. Manzi has over 30 years of experience in the Wealth Management arena. He formerly held the positions of Corporate Director of Investments at Key Centurion Bancshares, West Virginia Market Director and Director of Portfolio Management with Bank One. Mr. Manzi also served as the Director of the Central and Northeast Regions of JP Morgan’s Central Portfolio Management Group. In this role he had responsibility for the oversight of $12 billion of client assets. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University. He is also a graduate and former instructor at the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Mr. Manzi has served on the boards of the Marshall University Foundation, the Huntington Museum of Art, Junior Achievement of the Ohio Valley, the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation and other non-profit organizations.
Vice President, Legal Counsel
David G. Underwood has practiced law in West Virginia since 1977. He is an Advanced Planning Specialist and Trust Counsel with United Bank’s Wealth Management Group where he assists clients in the areas of estate planning, asset protection, business succession and insurance related issues. He has developed and presented numerous seminars on the subject of asset protection and comprehensive estate planning. He is a member of the Mid-Ohio Valley Estate Planning Council and is Past President of the North Central West Virginia Estate Planning Council. Mr. Underwood is a Certified Financial Planner®, which is the most widely recognized financial planning designation in the industry.
